US-based truck manufacturer Paccar has reported a net income of $13 million or $0.04 per diluted share in the third quarter of 2009, compared to $299 million or $0.82 per diluted share in the third quarter of 2008.
The company's net sales and revenues for the third quarter of 2009 were $1.76 billion, compared to $3.7 billion in the same quarter of 2008.
For the nine months ended September 30, 2009, the company has reported a net income of $65.8 million or $0.18 per diluted share, compared to $904.8 million or $2.47 per diluted share in the same period of 2008.
Net sales and revenues for the first nine months of 2009 were $5.09 billion, compared to $11.08 billion in the first nine months of 2008.
Mark Pigott, chairman and CEO of Paccar, said: "Paccar reported improved third quarter revenues compared to the second quarter of 2009. The company generated net income of $13 million for the third quarter. The financial results continue to reflect the impact of a recessionary economy on freight shipments and truck purchases."
