Worldwide Leader Signs Multi-Year Online Movie Ticketing Agreement With Canadian-Based Empire Theatres

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/28/09 -- MovieTickets.com, the worldwide leader in advance movie ticketing, today announced it will provide online movie ticketing services for Empire Theatres, Canada's second largest film exhibition company. As part of the agreement, MovieTickets.com will serve all 374 screens owned and operated by Empire Theatres.
Representing 167 theater chains worldwide, MovieTickets.com continues to expand in and beyond the United States by offering consumers access to seven times the number of theater chains of its nearest competitor. The addition of Empire Theatres solidifies MovieTickets.com's position as the leading online movie ticketing provider in Canada. The site, which operates under the MovieTickets.ca brand in Canada, is designed with both English and French Canadian versions to accommodate the language preferences of moviegoers throughout the provinces.
The increased services in Canada continues the company's rapid international expansion, with MovieTickets.com ticketing available in all ten provinces and covering two-thirds of all theater screens in Canada. Additionally, MovieTickets.com recently launched movie ticketing services in Argentina, and will be launching soon in Aruba, Bermuda, and Curacao.
