The conference will highlight analytics, one of the fastest growing segments in the software industry, by presenting new career and revenue opportunities, networking, and panel discussions for investors, software developers, software executives, marketing professionals, and job seekers. Speakers include executives from IBM, Intuit, Microsoft, Accelrys, Illumina, ID Analytics, Covario and Newsforce.

The conference will also feature three panels:

-- Opportunities in Analytics: The Pay Off in New Businesses and Jobs
-- Mining Biodata: The Next Generation of Biomedical Research

-- Web 3.0: Social Networking, Analytics and Beyond

San Diego has become a hub for the analytics field, growing exponentially with innovations in technology. As more organizations mine the Internet and Website data to determine customer behaviors and needs, they create new revenue opportunities for analytics companies to critically evaluate the data. San Diego's well-integrated ecosystem of companies, universities, VCs and service providers provides a robust environment for analytics talent and investment growth.

"Analytics is a major piece of business intelligence strategies, it's the reason Netflix and companies like it are so successful," said Wayne Peacock, former vice president of Business Intelligence, Netflix, and founder and principal consultant, Inevit. "San Diego's analytics community is at the forefront, enhancing customer experiences across the globe with innovations developed right here. The SDSIC's 2009 "Forum on Analytics" provides education, peer networking and career opportunities to continue that growth."

The "Forum on Analytics" is produced in association with the UCSD Jacobs School of Engineering, and will feature student poster presentations.
