Moody's Withdraws Ratings of Bank of Valletta

(Source: Info-Prod Research (Middle East))trackingMoody's Investors Service has todaywithdrawn the ratings of Bank of Valletta (BOV) for business reasons.This action was taken with the consent of both parties and does notreflect a change in the bank's creditworthiness. Moody's previous rating action on BOV was on 5 November 2008, when itlowered the bank's long-term and short- term local and foreign currencydeposit ratings to Baa1/Prime-2 from A3/Prime-1. In the same ratingaction, the rating agency also lowered the bank's senior unsecured debtrating to Baa1 from A3 and affirmed the BFSR at D+. BOV is based in Valletta (Malta) and had consolidated total assets of EUR6.216 billion as at the end of September 2009.
