Nov. 1--STAMFORD -- The future of digital media and the regional digital
media community will be the focus of discussion during the 2009 Digital Media
Business Conference, coming Nov. 11 to the University of Connecticut's
Stamford campus.
The event is sponsored by Connecticut Venture Group and CT Digital Media
and begins at 3 p.m.
Stamford Mayor Dannel Malloy will deliver the keynote address on the role
of government in fostering the digital media business community.
Eric Dale, a partner with Robinson & Cole law firm and chairman of the
firm's Emerging Companies, Private Equity and Venture Capital Practice Group,
said the conference will bring together digital media entrepreneurs and
investors representing venture capital firms, as well as private investors who
specialize in media-based enterprises.
Dale also is president of Connecticut Venture Group's Stamford chapter
and a cofounder of CT Digital Media.
"Given the interest of both major and entrepreneurial media companies
following last year's inaugural conference, there can be no doubt that
Connecticut is rapidly becoming an innovation and commercial hub for emerging
digital media companies, creating employment and opportunities for investors,"
he said in a statement.
Panelists include representatives from the Wall Street Journal, WWE, ESPN
and AT&T.
A networking reception and company exhibits will follow the formal
program.
Admission is $55. Those interested in registering or exhibiting should
call 256-5955 or visit www.cvg.org.
