Nov. 2, 2009 (Business Wire) -- Phoenix Controls Corporation, a Honeywell International business, today announced the opening of new demonstration suites at their corporate office in Acton, Massachusetts. The suites demonstrate the company’s precision airflow control products in full-scale environments that closely represent wet chemistry research, life science facilities, and critical care hospitals. The suites are used for scheduled customer visits to the facility where product specialists conduct guided tours to demonstrate state-of-the-art ventilation design, including fume hood containment, optimal space pressurization, and energy-saving techniques.
In the Healthcare Demonstration Suite, several full-scale hospital rooms demonstrate the performance of their ventilation product family known as Theris®. The area occupies 860 square feet and contains three types of patient care rooms (all considered critical environments by healthcare engineering guidelines); an operating room, an isolation room, and a patient room designed to support a pandemic incident.
In the Life Science Demonstration space, a typical lab support alcove has been designed with a constant volume, high efficiency hood to demonstrate the performance and environmental control capabilities of Traccel®. Traccel control capabilities include directional airflow, pressure monitoring, temperature and humidity, and shut-off for decontamination processes; critical to maintaining the environmental integrity of a Life Science facility.
The Research Laboratory space demonstrates energy-efficient, high-speed fume hood containment, including Progressive Offset Control (POC) in a Biocontainment lab using the Celeris® product family. Celeris is designed to provide unmatched airflow and space comfort control for today’s demanding high-level containment facilities.
“Customers always prefer to see our products in operation so they have the highest confidence our solution will work for them,” said Vincent Schultz, general manager of Phoenix Controls. “We have taken that concept one step further by investing in an area of our facility where we can demonstrate our valves in an environment that closely represents the customer’s actual facility. These suites show our strong commitment to providing solutions that have demonstrated business benefits to our customers.”
