BEIJING, Nov. 3, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- AMD (NYSE:AMD) officially released the Vision technology (OOTC:VSTCQ) on Monday, which will be used as the new brand for consumer PC.
The Vision technology will unify all types of logos of CPU, GPU and chip set, so as to present the audio-visual entertainment experience to customers brings about by the whole AMD platform, said Wang Zhengfu, vice president of AMD and general manager of AMD Greater China.
Complicated PC models in the market induced great confusion, and IT giants agree to simplify the brands and offer more conveniences to customers.
Intel announced to abandon the Centrino-branded PC processors in September and focus on the Core-branded products, so as to simplify the line of products.
The first batch of Vision-branded laptops was officially presented on Monday. PC manufacturers including Acer, Asus, HP (NYSE:HPQ) , and Samsung all have some of their products changed to Vision brand.
