JERUSALEM -- The Israeli government is working to revive the peace talks with the Palestinians, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said on Tuesday.

TEHRAN -- Iran's ambassador to Moscow Seyed Mahmoud Reza Sajjadi said Tuesday that Russians will launch Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant soon, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.

BAGHDAD -- Iraq signed Tuesday a major oil deal with Britain's BP (NYSE:BP) and China's National Petroleum Company (CNPC) to develop its Rumaila oilfield in southern Iraq.
Iraqi Oil Minister Hussein Al-Shahristani signed the deal worth 50 billion U.S. dollars with representatives and heads of the British and Chinese companies in a ceremony held in Baghdad al- Rasheed Hotel at the edge of the heavily fortified Green Zone. ( Iraq-Oil-Roundup)

SANAA -- Two top Yemeni security officers and four police escorts were killed when their car was ambushed on Tuesday by unidentified militants in the southeast of the country, where al- Qaida has been gaining strength.
Ahmed Salim al-Ammary, director of the General Security Services (GSS) in Hadramout province, and Ahmed Ba-Wazir, head of the Political Security Organization (PSO) in Hadramout, were killed on board with their four security escorts in an ambush along the highway, said a senior security source who asked to remain anonymous. CAIRO -- U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton arrived in Cairo Tuesday night for talks with Egyptian leaders in an effort to resume the Middle East peace talks, an informed source at Cairo International Airport told Xinhua.
Clinton is scheduled to meet Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Wednesday to discuss the latest efforts aiming at reviving stalled peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians. (Egypt-US- Clinton)
