Nov. 4, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- CNOOC announces production start of offshore Luda 27-2 oilfield
BEIJING, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) 锝– China National Offshore Oil Corporat ion Limited (CNOOC Ltd. CEO.NYSE; 0883.HK), China's largest offshore o il and gas producer, announced Wednesday that its offshore Luda 27-2 o ilfield has started formal production, earlier than planned as it said .
The oilfield, located in eastern part of Bohai Sea and some 104 kilometers to the northwest of Qinhuangdao City in Hebei province, has
11 on-stream oil wells that have an estimated daily crude oil output of 11, 000 barrels.
According to the company announcement, the maximum production of
the oilfield is to reach 13,000 barrels per day.
The oilfield is wholly owned by CNOOC Ltd. (NYSE:CEO) , which also serves as
the operator.
CNOOC Ltd announced its Q3 results on October 29. Despite an inc rease of crude oil output, the company suffered from a decline of reve nue because of lower crude oil prices on the international market. Its
revenue reached 23.76 billion yuan and 56.81 billion yuan in the thir d quarter and the first three quarters respectively, down 23.05 percen t and 33.87 percent year on year.
