(Source: Datamonitor)trackingTexas Eastern Transmission, a subsidiary of Spectra Energy, has placed into service its Northern Bridge project, an expansion of its Texas Eastern system that will transport 150 million cubic feet per day of new Rocky Mountain natural gas supplies to Northeast markets.

The company has said that the Northern Bridge project, which will move gas from Clarington, Ohio supply point to the Oakford/Delmont, Pennsylvania region, was constructed entirely within Texas Eastern's existing footprint through the addition of new and enhanced compression in Pennsylvania.

Bill Yardley, group vice president of Spectra Energy Transmission, Northeast, said: "Northern Bridge is an important part of Spectra Energy's strategy to efficiently and cost-effectively expand our systems to deliver greater volumes of natural gas into the Northeast. Our efforts will increase the region's access to more diverse and reliable supply, while enhancing the deliverability of the interstate transmission grid."
