Anadarko Petroleum has reported a net income of $200 million, or $0.40 per diluted share, for the third quarter of 2009, compared to $2.16 billion, or $4.58 per diluted share, for the same period of 2008.
The company has reported total revenue of $2.74 billion for the third quarter of 2009, compared to $6.15 billion for the same quarter of 2008.
Anadarko Petroleum has reported a net loss of $364 million, or $0.77 per diluted share, for the first nine months of 2009, compared to a net income of $2.47 billion, or $5.22 per diluted share, for the corresponding period of 2008.
Year-to-date total revenue was $6.08 billion, compared to $11.91 billion for the first nine months of 2008.
Jim Hackett, chairman and CEO of Anadarko Petroleum, said: "The positive third-quarter results continue to demonstrate the value of Anadarko's portfolio, with strong performance from both our producing assets and deepwater exploration program. Our exploration, drilling and operations teams continued to perform very well in achieving record sales volumes, lower costs, increased efficiencies and differentiating deepwater drilling success."
