tw telecom, a provider of managed voice, internet and data networking solutions, has reported a net income of $7.7 million, or $0.05 per diluted share, for the third quarter ended September 30, 2009, compared to a net loss of $186,000, or $0 per diluted share, in the third quarter of 2008.
For the third quarter of 2009, total revenues were $304.8 million, a 5% increase, compared to $291.62 million in the third quarter of 2008.
For the first nine months ended September 30, 2009, total revenues were $903.46 million, a 5% increase, compared to $864.37 million in the same period of 2008. Net income was $16.49 million, compared to a net loss of $8.16 million in the same period of 2008.
Larissa Herda, chairman, CEO and president of tw telecom, said: "We grew revenue, achieved strong margins and generated increased cash flow, while maintaining healthy liquidity, demonstrating the strength of our model and our ability to execute.
