Dean Evans & Associates, Inc. (www.dea.com) today announced the beta
release of a new web-based interface for their meeting and event
scheduling and resource management products. The interface, which is
available for their EMS Professional(TM) and EMS Enterprise(TM)-level
products, is free to existing customers with current Annual Service
Agreements and can be downloaded from the company's website. The EMS
line of products is used by more than 3,700 organizations across all
industries and facility types to simplify meeting and event
scheduling, facilitate office "hoteling," maximize resource
utilization, streamline communications and reduce operating costs.
"In the same way that our Virtual EMS(TM) web-based tool is optimized
for a particular group -- users wanting to submit space requests or
check on existing events -- the new web interface is designed for
administrative users such as facility managers, schedulers and service
providers," says Kevin Raasch, executive vice president at Dean Evans
& Associates. "The web interface will give those users convenient
'anytime, anywhere' access to EMS that is specifically geared to
their needs, allowing them to be highly productive wherever they
are."
"The advantage of releasing the interface in 'beta' is that it will
create great synergy between our development team and the user
community," says Ed Nowak, director of product development. "It's
free, easy to install, and selectively focused on reporting
capabilities in the first pass, so users can dive right in and begin
giving us feedback. And over the next 12-18 months, we will be
migrating most of the functionality of the traditional desktop client
to the web interface in roughly-monthly updates that will give
customers time to assimilate new functionality as it's delivered."
The interface is expected to be in beta release until the middle of
2010. The company will be encouraging feedback from early adopters and
will provide a number of avenues for them to submit input.
