TOKYO, Nov. 6, 2009 (Kyodo News International) -- Yamaha Motor Co. has dispatched some 270 of its full-time workforce to Toyota Motor Corp. (NYSE:TM) to secure jobs for workers who have become redundant due to sluggish motorcycle sales in the U.S. and European markets, company officials said Friday.
The dispatched workers will work until December or March at Toyota plants busy keeping up with demand for Prius hybrid cars, they said.
In a related development, a Yamaha subsidiary has also sent about 40 workers to Nissan Motor Co. (OOTC:NSANY)
