Aurobindo drug gets US nod

Hyderabad: Aurobindo Pharma Ltd has received final approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for Lamotrigine tablets.

The tablets are generic equivalent to Lamictal of GlaxoSmithKline (NYSE:GSK) and fall under central nervous system segment.

They are indicated as adjunctive therapy for partial seizures and generalised seizures of Lennox-Gastaut syndrome in patients aged two years and older and for conversion to monotherapy in adults with partial seizures.
