DHAKA, Nov. 7, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- The United Airways, a private sector airliner of Bangladesh, will start its Dhaka-London-Dhaka route on Nov. 21, private news agency UNB reported on Saturday.
The first Dhaka-London flight of the airliner is scheduled to take off from Dhaka with a 155-seat MD-83, a U.S.-built aircraft equipped with the latest aviation technologies and navigation equipment.
The one-way fare for Dhaka-London is 425 U.S. dollars while the return fare is 810 U.S. dollars, exclusive of all taxes.
Flights to London will operate twice a week initially on Tuesdays and Saturdays, according to a message received from the United Airways and was quoted by UNB.
The airliner is also scheduled to start Dhaka-Kuala Lumpur- Dhaka, Dhaka-Katmandu-Dhaka and Dhaka-Bangkok-Dhaka routes by December 2009, while Dhaka-Jeddah-Dhaka route in the first quarter of next year with Boeing (NYSE:BA) 767-300ER.
Launched on July 10, 2007, the United Airways has some 500 shareholders, 95 percent of whom are non-resident Bangladeshis living in the UK.
