Nov. 7, 2009 (United Press International) -- John Clay rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown and Montee Ball logged two scores to lead No. 22 Wisconsin to a 31-28 win over Indiana Saturday.
Receiver Nick Toon pulled down five passes for 123 yards as the Badgers piled up a season-high 488 yards of offense, including 294 rushing yards. The win boosted Wisconsin to 7-2 overall and 4-2 in the Big Ten, while the Hoosiers fell to 4-6, 1-5.
Wisconsin quarterback Scott Tolzien completed 11-of-20 for 194 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions.
Indiana quarterback Ben Chappell finished 25-of-35 for 323 yards. He had three touchdown passes and two interceptions.
After the Hoosiers pulled to 24-21 with 12 minutes remaining, Tolzien found Toon on a 44-yard, third-down completion to keep the drive alive. Ball capped it off with a 3-yard TD run to give Wisconsin a 10-point cushion with 8:18 to play.
