Airline traffic demand in Asia and the availability of funds to support aircraft deliveries have improved from a year ago, which bodes well for the aviation sector, says Shipping Gazette quoting a Boeing (NYSE:BA) report. This time last year the industry had faced unpredictable and volatile market situation. The situation this year continues to be fragile but appears to be more predictable and less volatile than a year ago. Asia, it is pointed out, has benefited f rom the assistance provided by Export-Import Bank of the US, mostly through bank loans guaranteed by the US Government. Exim Bank’s large aircraft support to airlines and leasing companies in Asia amounted to $3.7 billion during the Government’s 2009 fiscal that ended in September. It is said that Asia, led by China, will continue to play an important role in the global demand for new aircraft. Boeing forecasts that nearly 9,000 aircraft, valued at $41.1 trillion, will be delivered in the region in the next 20 years.
