TOKYO, Nov. 9, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- The U.S. dollar was quoted at the upper 89 yen level early Monday in Tokyo after hitting a three- week local high of 89.60 yen Friday in New York.

At 9 a.m., the dollar fetched 89.86-90 yen versus 89.83-93 yen in New York and 90.45-46 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Friday.

The euro traded at 1.4863-4866 dollars and 133.60-62 yen against 1.4843-4853 dollars and 133.37-47 yen in New York and 1. 4876-4878 dollars and 134.56-60 yen in Tokyo late Friday.
