China's auto sales up 72.48 pct y-o-y in Oct, CAAM

BEIJING, Nov. 9, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- China's auto output and sales continued to rise in October, according to the latest statistics released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

Sales reached 1.23 million units in October, down 7.92 percent month on month, but up 72.48 percent year on year. Output went down 7.64 percent month on month but up 79.79 percent year on year to 1.26 million units.

From January to October, auto sales jumped 37.7 percent from the previous year's same period to 10.89 million units, while output surged 36.23 percent to 10.87 million units.
