LAGOS, Nov. 9, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- After the Beijing Summit of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum held in 2006, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) has devoted itself to the implementation of the action plan of the summit.
From Algeria in North Africa to Southern Africa's Botswana, from Tanzania in East Africa to Nigeria in West Africa, CCECC's workers can be seen in various construction projects. They are playing an active role in the improvement of infrastructural conditions in Africa, defying high temperature, mosquito and malaria, water deficiency and altitude sickness.
CCECC is now engaged in Nigeria's light rail in the capital of Abuja, reconstruction project of Apapa Port and some bridges and highways. It will soon build light rail in Lagos and modernized railways from Abuja to Kaduna and from Lagos to Ibadan.
In Algeria and Libya, it is also engaged in the construction of expressways and express railways. In Tanzania and Botswana as well as Uganda, Ruanda and Djibouti, it started civil service construction and housing construction projects as well as building highways. It is making blueprints for civil construction projects in Sudan, Ghana and Angola.
Zhou Tianxiang, deputy general manager of CCECC, said, "We promise to fulfill all projects in high quality to the benefit of African countries and people and to contribute to the growth of China-Africa Cooperation."
