Radiant Logic, the market leader for virtual directory solutions, today
announced the release of the RadiantOne Virtual Directory Server (VDS)
Context Edition 5.2. This new release continues Radiant Logic's move
towards more sophisticated identity integration through virtualization.
The introduction of the Global Identifier & Profile Builder addresses a
key challenge of identity management: how to create a unified list of
all identities and their profiles drawn from various applications,
databases, and directories”without having to centralize security.
Identity and context virtualization allows enterprises with highly
distributed, heterogeneous sources of identity to "manage globally and
act locally," by delivering a complete view of identity while enforcing
security at the data source level. This innovation comes at a time when
focusing IdM efforts outside the enterprise is not only essential for
security purposes but is also tied to enterprise growth. The move to
externally-focused, high-ROI initiatives began with web access
management (WAM) and federation, and has extended to SaaS and cloud
computing.
"Protecting identities, information and infrastructure happens on two
fronts; mitigating insider risk by controlling exactly who has access to
a well-defined set of resources, while concurrently focusing outside of
the perimeter to prevent evolving threats like online fraud," said Sam
Curry, Vice President, Product Management at RSA, The Security Division
of EMC. "To help manage this complex task, joint customers leveraging
the cutting-edge release of VDS with integrated web access management
solutions from RSA will benefit from a streamlined approach to managing
diverse user populations and securing their reach into a set of
well-defined, valuable assets."
VDS Context Edition is designed to address the challenges of integrating
high-volume, heterogeneous identity environments, with multiple user
populations (customers, partners, employees) and disparate data sources
(directories, databases, web services). By providing a single unified
view of customers, VDS Context Edition 5.2 enables enterprise
authentication, authorization, and profile management.
"Now enterprises can manage identity globally and also act locally by
enforcing security as close to the sources of service as possible," said
Michel Prompt, CEO of Radiant Logic.
