TORONTO, Nov. 9 /CNW/ -- Canada may not be a haven for fraudsters yet, but fraudulent activities conducted against the government are on the increase at an alarming rate. A 2005 RCMP report on Economic Crime estimated our national police force convicted close to 300 offenders between 2000-2003, which represented over $41 million in misappropriated funds.

As fraudsters become more agile and savvy, the number of fraudulent activities conducted towards governments will likely increase.

Join SAS on November 17th at a thought-provoking breakfast seminar on government fraud and ways to detect and prevent it. Presenters include former FBI executive Chris Swecker and Joe Pendleton, former fraud detective and Director of the Special Investigations Unit of the Government of Alberta, who will discuss ways to detect fraud in all its forms, including claims, waste and abuse.
