Milwaukee police were searching Sunday for a man who they say is
responsible for five robberies over the weekend, including three at
Milwaukee banks.
The first robbery occurred at 9:10 a.m. Saturday at the U.S. Bank
inside 4015 S. Howell Ave. The man entered the bank, approached a
teller and presented a note demanding money, police said. He fled
with cash from the bank.
Police think he also robbed two George Webb restaurants,
including one at 2012 W. Layton Ave., on Saturday. The man implied
that he had a gun.
He apparently struck again Sunday afternoon, first at the TCF
Bank, 123 W. Oklahoma Ave., at 2:44 p.m., police said. The next
happened at 2:55 p.m. at Tri City National Bank, 250 W. Holt Ave.
The robber is described as a white man in his late 20s or early
30s, about 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall and weighing 160 to 180
pounds. He had a slight mustache and was wearing prescription
glasses. Descriptions of the his clothing included a baseball cap
with the number "88" on the front and a gray Harley-Davidson
