MAKHACHKALA. Nov 12 (Interfax) - Two explosions at the Mozdok-
Gazimagomed gas pipeline have occurred in the Karabudakhkent
district of Dagestan over the past day. The pipeline supplies
Russian gas to Azerbaijan, a source at the Dagestani department of
the Federal Security Service told Interfax.
A bomb of up to one kilogram of TNT went off near Novy Uitash, he
said. The pipeline was not damaged.
The second explosion occurred in the Uitash area at 10:05 p.m.
Moscow time.
"The pipeline security service found the bomb at approximately
9:00 p.m. Moscow time. The place was cordoned off and demolition
experts of the Federal Security Service were alerted. The bomb went
off before the demolition squad arrived. According to the
preliminary information, the pipeline was moderately damaged," the
source said.
