ST. LOUIS, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Patriot Coal Corporation (NYSE: PCX) today announced that Philip A. Brandt has been named Vice President of Employee Services, reporting to Joseph W. Bean, Senior Vice President - Law & Administration. In this role, Mr. Brandt will be responsible for employee relations, compensation & benefits and organizational development.
Mr. Brandt has 19 years of experience overseeing human resources, safety and health organizations. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources for GKN Aerospace, a $2.5 billion global company with more than 9,000 employees. Previously, he held leadership roles in human resources at Nestle Purina PetCare Company and Ralston Purina Company.
Brandt will be leading a department including Robert M. Brines, Senior Manager, Healthcare & Funds Reporting, Kathryn M. Burlage, Senior Manager of Compensation & Employee Relations and Mary B. Kohlmiller, Director of Benefits.
Brandt holds a Masters in Business Administration from Lindenwood University and a Bachelor of Science in Safety Management from Central Missouri State University.
