Suzuki Motorcycle India plans to increase production capacity

(Source: Datamonitor)trackingSuzuki Motorcycle India, which manufactures bikes and scooters, plans to increase production capacity of its two wheelers to 300,000 units by the end of 2009, according to The Economic Times.

The company also plans to expand its manufacturing plant in Gurgaon, Haryana with an investment of INR1.25 billion.

Atul Gupta, vice president of marketing and sales at Suzuki Motorcycle India, was quoted as saying: "We are looking at a higher market share in the domestic market. With robust demand in the past few months, we will increase our monthly production capacity to 25,000 two-wheelers by March next year from the current 12,000 units. The fresh production would help cut down the waiting period on our flagship scooter model Access."
