STOCKHOLM. Nov 18 (Interfax) - Russia and Sweden will sign
memorandums on energy cooperation and cooperation in the
transportation sector in the near future, Russian presidential press
secretary Natalya Timakova said.
"The parties have agreed upon a memorandum on energy cooperation
and a document on transportation cooperation, but taking into
account that Moscow is hosting a major congress of transportation
ministers [the First Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety]
and that the Swedish transportation minister is there, we agreed
that this document would be signed in Moscow," Timakova told
journalists following Russian-Swedish negotiations in Stockholm on
Wednesday.
A memorandum on energy cooperation will also be signed in the
near future, and Russian Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko will sign it
on Russia's behalf.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said earlier at a press
conference that Russia and Sweden had prepared a number of
Memorandums to be signed but "decided not to do that for some
unknown reasons."
