Under the deal, the company will lead a team of 238 subcontractors and provide life cycle systems and software engineering support to help the Army integrate technology and equipment needed for continued mission success. The company will provide the support to the Army Aviation & Missile Research, Development & Engineering Center (AMRDEC) Software Engineering Directorate (SED) at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.

The company said AMRDEC SED maintains expertise in the Army's prevailing policies and practices on software reuse, metrics, post deployment support, process improvement, computer resource margins analysis, and risk management.

John Gully, senior vice president and business unit general manager at SAIC, said: "We look forward to continuing our support for this important customer as they provide mission critical systems and software engineering expertise to support weapon systems over their life cycle."

Earlier this month, the company won five task orders worth $189m from the US Department of Homeland Security to support the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Office of the Chief Information Officer. It also won a five-year $160m contract from the Naval Sea Systems Command to provide engineering support services for the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems.
