involved in the base metals mining and exploration with its main asset
of a 100% interest in the Magnellan lead mine in Western Australia. The
company reached a high of $0.395 today and closed the day with 25% at
$0.375, on no news. Mid month Ivernia released its third quarter
reporting an operating loss of $261,000, a significant improvement from
the operating loss of $2.6 million, same period last year. For the nine
months ended September 30, 2009 operating income totalled $737,000
compared with an operating loss of $7.3 million for the same period last
year.
Weatherford International Ltd. (NYSE: WFT), $16.70, +$0.23,
1.40%, provides equipment and services used for drilling, completion
and production of oil and natural gas wells. Weatherford International
operates in about 100 countries and has service and sales locations in
nearly all of the oil and natural gas producing regions in the world.
WFT made gains today reaching a high of $16.89, closing the day with
volume of 24.7 million, compared to yesterday's close of 19.6 million,
on no news. Last month's announcement focused on the company's third
quarter results income of $93 million. Third quarter revenues were
$2,150 million, or 15 percent lower than the same period last year,
against a backdrop of a 39 percent decrease in global rig count.
Brocade Communications Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: BRCD), $7.34,
+$0.24, 3.38%, reached a low of $7.03 and managed to close just 0.01
under its high of $7.35 today, with over 39 million shares trading
hands. The
company offers a line of storage networking products and services
and a SAN management operating system that enables companies to network
application servers with storage devices through a SAN. Latest
company news confirmed that it has not been selling itself to other
parties. Brocade who has been the subject of a possible takeover
confirmed through its CEO, Mike Klayko, that he "never was actively
shopping the company."
Instacare Corp. (NASDAQ: ISCR), $0.205, +$0.035, 20.59%, closed
the day with over 20% gains, reaching a low of $0.159, a high of $0.218
and closing slightly under at $0.205, with 2.9 million shares traded. Instacare
announced that its brands of MD@Hand and Practice Probe EMR and
other e-health technologies have been engineered to function on popular
smart cell phones. The adaptation of the desktop and hand-held
interactive medical software responds to the federal government's demand
for healthcare cost structure revision. Its release also positions
Instacare at the forefront of companies scrambling to satisfy the
government's mandate for broad cost reduction and systemic restructuring
of healthcare billing, information storage and recordkeeping.
Gold Wheaton Corporation (OTCBB: GLW), $0.38, +$0.025, 7.04%, is
a mining company, with its main focus on gold, platinum and palladium.
Gold Wheaton made gains today of over 7% with 17.6 million shares
traded. The company reached a low of $0.35 and managed to close at its
high of $0.38, on no news.
