An international seminar on UNESCO's open source ‘Greenstone' digital library software will be held at the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K) from December 13 to 17.
The ‘Greenstone' software is an internationally renowned software system for developing digital libraries, promoted by the project research group at the University of Waikato, New Zealand. The software is developed and distributed in cooperation with UNESCO and the Human Info NGO.
It is an open source software aimed at libraries to build their own digital libraries. ‘Greenstone' is the recipient of Andrew Mellon award for Global Technology Collaboration in 2008.
