SAMSUNG Selects TriQuint's Complete RF Front-End Solution for its Galaxy Tab and Galaxy S Series

Dec. 15, 2010 (Business Wire) -- TriQuint Semiconductor, Inc. (NASDAQ: TQNT) a leading RF front-end product manufacturer and foundry services provider, today announced that the world's second largest handset manufacturer*, SAMSUNG, selected TriQuint for its complete 3G RF front-end for its popular, new Samsung Galaxy Tab.This is in addition to Samsung choosing TriQuint's total 3G RF front-end solution for its flagship smartphone series, Galaxy S.

The TriQuint solution offers the lowest current consumption and highest degree of design flexibility, scalability and miniaturization compared to other 3G WEDGE architectural solutions. The solution includes TriQuint's family of WCDMA TRITIUM PA-Duplexer Modules™ in combination with its linear WEDGE QUANTUM Tx Module™.

The Chosen Solution

TriQuint's TRITIUM PA Duplexer Module family integrates a duplexer, power amplifier, and an interstage filter that supports the following major WCDMA bands: Band 1, 2, 4, 5, & 8. The linear QUANTUM Tx Module integrates an EDGE power amplifier, low-pass filtering, and a SP8T antenna switch. The solution is tested and certified with a leading chipset provider/system integrator to optimize the overall system performance.

Together, the TRITIUM family and QUANTUM Tx module are an excellent demonstration of TriQuint's broad-breadth of technologies and capabilities in delivering an entire 3G RF solution, from the transceiver to the antenna, and underscores TriQuint's leadership in 3G/4G front-end technologies and integrated solutions.
