The operator of Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea theme parks said its board of directors decided on a new executive lineup, including Uenishi's appointment.

Sony to voluntarily recall 3,700 VAIO desktop PCs worldwide
TOKYO - Sony Corp. said Tuesday it will voluntarily recall for free repairs a total of some 3,700 desktop personal computers globally in six models of the VAIO type L Series as their screens could drop off in reaction to a strong shock.
Sony decided on the recall following two reports on the problem caused by the use of wrong screws to fix the screens to the machines.

Sanyo sees FY 2008 net loss of 90 bil. yen, plans regular wage cuts
OSAKA - Sanyo Electric Co. said Tuesday it expects to fall into the red with a group net loss of 90 billion yen for the year ending this month due to slumping sales of electronic devices amid the worldwide economic recession.
The projected red-ink performance, the second time since fiscal 2006, compares with its earlier forecast of breaking even and its year-earlier profit of 28.7 billion yen.

Bic Camera receives improvement order from TSE, escapes delisting
TOKYO - The Tokyo Stock Exchange said Tuesday it has removed Bic Camera Inc. from its supervision post for possible delisting, on which the firm was placed for irregular accounting.
The TSE said its investigation showed that the case was not serious enough to merit delisting but added it has ordered the home electric appliance retailer to explain how it will improve its internal controls by April 7.

Toshiba, NEC to sharply cut recruitment
TOKYO - Major Japanese electronics makers Toshiba Corp. and NEC Corp. announced their respective plans Tuesday to substantially reduce recruitment of new graduates in April 2010 amid the current economic crisis.
Toshiba and its domestic subsidiaries plan to recruit a total of 1,800 new graduates in April 2010, down 39 percent from April 2009, the company said. Their recruitment of mid-career workers in fiscal 2009 from next month will also be cut by 42 percent to 650 persons.

Radia Holdings to sell engineering staffing service unit
TOKYO - Struggling temporary staffing agency Radia Holdings Inc. said Tuesday it will sell its factory staffing service unit by July 1 so that it can terminate its service for manufacturers.
The company, formerly called Goodwill Group Inc., said the unit, Premier-Line Inc., will be sold to engineering staffing agency Transtech Inc. for 320 million yen.
