Storage Solutions - Including Upcoming RDX A8 and Defender Collection
- Provide Secure, Reliable Storage
Apr. 4, 2011 (Business Wire) -- Imation Corp. (NYSE: IMN), a leading global technology company dedicated to helping people and organizations store, protect and connect with their digital world, will showcase its RDX® removable hard disk storage portfolio and Defender Collection™ portfolio of removable storage products at Storage Networking World (SNW) Spring 2011 this week at the Santa Clara Convention Center. The RDX portfolio, being shown in booth number 214, provides small- and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) with easy and reliable backup, data security and expandable storage.
"Imation's RDX system advances the level of data storage and protection available to growing SMBs," said Subodh Kulkarni, chief technology officer and senior vice president, Imation. "Users gain complete data protection and system flexibility, all with a lower total cost of ownership compared to entry-level tape-based systems."
Earlier this year, Imation announced plans to expand the high-performance RDX portfolio with several new additions. These enhancements include the RDX A8, which Imation will showcase at SNW and will launch in mid-2011. This networked storage device holds up to eight RDX cartridges of interchangeable capacities. Imation also plans additional 2011 RDX roadmap investments in the areas of USB 3.0 connectivity, increased cartridge capacities, enhanced cloud storage applications, scalable and efficient storage, and government-grade (FIPS) security features.
Imation's RDX removable hard disk drive cartridges are available in 160GB, 320GB, 500GB, 640GB, 750GB and 1TB capacities. The docking station and cartridges are fully forward and backward compatible.
At SNW, Imation also will showcase the award-winning Defender Collection portfolio of removable storage products for securing data at rest on portable devices and media. The Defender Collection includes a range of secure storage solutions on flash drives, removable hard disk drives and optical media, as well as security management software for managing removable devices. These solutions are especially valuable to industries needing to manage risk associated with increasing amounts of sensitive portable data.
