Panelists Discuss Strategies and Tactics to Focus in on the Ideal

Student

May 17, 2011 (Business Wire) -- ESM, a provider of student lifecycle solutions to help schools enroll, graduate and place students, is leading an interactive panel discussion at the 2011 APSCU Annual Convention, guiding colleges through the processes, technology and data that can help them better predict the likelihood of a student staying in school, graduating, securing a job, and repaying student loans.

From the initial interaction with a prospective student, attendees will learn what traits, behaviors, demographics and historical information can help them focus in on the ideal student. Panelists will help colleges understand and target students who not only have the potential to graduate, but also to achieve career goals and fulfill financial aid responsibilities. ESM's Murray Smith, Chief Marketing Officer, will moderate the panel, which includes:

  • Marc Konesco, Chief Operating Officer, Harrison College
  • Brad Gibbs, Chief Growth Officer, Plattform
  • Chris McArdle, Executive Director of Interactive Markets, TARGUSinfo
  • Jeffery Weinstein, Chief Economist, ESM Chaperone LLC/BridgeSpan Financial

"Making sure a school's program is a fit for the student is as important as making sure the school has the ideal type of student enrolled in the program," said Smith. "This is becoming more important as the industry experiences a stricter regulatory environment and greater accountability in helping students succeed both academically and professionally. Our goal as presenters is to better prepare colleges to assess a student's propensity to successfully move through the student lifecycle from initial prospect to productive employee in the workforce."

The panel session, "The Right Student: From Ideal Prospect to Successful Graduate," will take place Tuesday, June 7th at 1:15 p.m. Additionally, ESM is one a select group of sponsors hosting the "Round-Up and Revelry" evening event, which takes place Monday, June 6th at 7:30 p.m. To visit with ESM during the APSCU Convention, please visit booth #719.
