With temperatures still skyrocketing, Avnet
Electronics Marketing Americas, a business region of Avnet, Inc.
(NYSE: AVT), is extending its opportunity to keep cool this summer, with
its "Dog Days of Summer" video contest.
The contest deadline has been extended to September 16, 2011.

Design engineers and hobbyists alike are encouraged to upload a video of
their designs to the Avnet Electronics Marketing YouTube
page showcasing how they have used at least one part available on
Avnet's line card. Avnet's panel of judges – Suzanne Deffree, managing
editor online for EDN, Shelley Keating, technology professor at
University of Advancing Technology and Ken Cheung, editor and technology
blogger – will choose four winners to receive an iPad2. Each submission
will be judged on originality, creativity, number of "thumbs up," and
fit to contest theme. Designs submitted should fall into the following
four categories:

Communications
-
Transportation
-
Entertainment
