Kodak Pulls 'Hat Trick' of Printing Industry 'Most Innovative Technology' Awards

Thursday, November 17, 2011 8:30 AM

Kodak has pulled a "hat trick" of honors, winning the German printing industry's prestigious Innovation Award for the third year in a row.

Previously, the KODAK NEXPRESS Dimensional Printing System took the award in 2009, while last year the KODAK TRILLIAN SP Thermal Plate in the Prepress category and the KODAK PROSPER 5000XL Press in the Printing category took Innovation Awards.

Now, in 2011, the KODAK NEXPRESS SX Digital Production Color Platform, with the long sheet option, has been honored with the ‘Most Innovative Technology' (Gold Award) in the Printing category.

The latest award winner was chosen in an internet poll by readers of Deutscher Drucker and Grafische Palette, two leading German trade journals, and print.de, from a total of 30 technologies nominated by the publications' editors.

"We're much honored to walk away with such a highly respected award for the third consecutive year," said Mark Clark, Regional General Manager & Vice President of Digital Printing Solutions for Kodak. "The accolade is particularly satisfying as it was print professionals working on the frontline that voted for us. It underlines Kodak's track record of developing solutions that help print services providers overcome the challenges they face in the graphic communications industry."

The NEXPRESS SX Platform offers superior print quality, excellent substrate flexibility, and numerous in-line coating and printing effects. The system helps print service providers across the world to differentiate their offering and drive revenue by enabling them to create unique, value-adding products.

New features of the NEXPRESS SX Platform include speeds of up to 131ppm, a longer sheet size (26"/660 mm), smaller ink particle size with the new KODAK NEXPRESS HD Dry Inks, new KODAK NEXPRESS Light Black HD Solution, and a new matte printing option.
