Meringer Named Chairman of the Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of Sunovia has elected Patricia C. Meringer as the Chairman of the Board to fill a vacancy on the board.
Meringer will lead the Company's efforts in building and diversifying its board of directors, implementing governance best practices and positioning the Company's board and executive management for anticipated growth in the LED lighting business.
Lighting industry veteran and Sunovia advisor, Mel Interiano, applauded the move. While serving as Corporate Counsel and Secretary of Hibernia Corporation, a NYSE-traded public bank holding company (now a part of CapitalOne), Meringer created a charter for the company's newly-formed corporate governance committee and advised the board on implementing its goals for diversity, board training and orientation, board compensation and incentives and succession management. At the same time, she was a team leader for a company-wide process mapping and improvement project aimed at improving operating efficiencies throughout the system.
