Scaled Expansion of LED Lighting Planned

SARASOTA, Fla., Feb. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Sunovia™ Energy Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB: SUNV), a clean-tech company, announced today changes to its board of directors.

Meringer Named Chairman of the Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of Sunovia has elected Patricia C. Meringer as the Chairman of the Board to fill a vacancy on the board.

Meringer will lead the Company's efforts in building and diversifying its board of directors, implementing governance best practices and positioning the Company's board and executive management for anticipated growth in the LED lighting business.

Lighting industry veteran and Sunovia advisor, Mel Interiano, applauded the move. "Ms. Meringer's appointment is an important step, of many to come, that will transform Sunovia from an award-winning technology development company to a recognized industry player in the global lighting marketplace. Patricia's background and expertise are exactly what Sunovia needs at this crucial time in the company's evolution, and I look forward to working with Sunovia as we light this road to expansion and brand recognition."

Interim CEO, Erich Hofer, agreed. "Patricia's expertise in corporate governance will be extremely important to the Company in the near term. At the same time, she was a team leader for a company-wide process mapping and improvement project aimed at improving operating efficiencies throughout the system.

"I am pleased to accept this appointment, and appreciate the trust that the board has placed in me," said Meringer. "We have an exciting and challenging job ahead of us, and I look forward to continuing to work with our team and our partners to increase manufacturing capacities, expand distribution channels and build value in our Company."
