Labor Department auditorium to be named after Cesar E. Chavez
WASHINGTON – Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis will honor the contributions of farm workers by inducting the pioneers of the farm worker movement into the Labor Hall of Honor at U.S. Department of Labor headquarters in Washington at 10 a.m. EDT on March 26. Following the induction, Secretary Solis will dedicate the department's auditorium in honor of Cesar E. Chavez. Guests and participants will include Obama administration officials; members of Chavez's family; farm workers and their families; leaders of community organizations, labor advocacy groups and unions; and local students. Michael Pena, actor and star of the upcoming film "Chavez," will serve as the event's master of ceremonies.
