DeVry, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Extend Partnership for Military Spouse Hiring Fair at Fort Hood

Tuesday, March 27, 2012 9:00 AM

DeVry Inc. (NYSE: DV), a global provider of educational services, is once again partnering with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Hiring Our Heroes program to offer career-training services at the Military Spouse Hiring Fair on March 28 at Fort Hood, Texas.

The Fort Hood career fair is expected to draw more than 800 military spouses for an event featuring résumé writing and interview coaching from DeVry, as well as a hiring fair with national employers seeking to fill open positions. DeVry first partnered with the Chamber earlier this year to provide career services at a Hiring Our Heroes event in Washington, D.C.

“DeVry’s experience providing professional career services adds tremendous value to the military spouses attending these fairs across the country,” said Laura Dempsey, director of the spouse employment program at the U.S. Chamber Of Commerce. “The U.S. Chamber and Hiring Our Heroes are delighted to continue this partnership with DeVry to better serve our veterans and their families.”

DeVry’s career support services include writing and interview strategy workshops offered both in advance of and during the event. Sessions are led by trained career services professionals from DeVry University, part of the DeVry Inc. family of educational institutions.

“DeVry is thrilled to expand our partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Hiring Our Heroes to continue to support our troops and their spouses in finding new careers,” said Daniel Hamburger, president and chief executive officer of DeVry Inc. “We saw tremendous success at the January event in D.C. and look forward to another valuable career fair at Fort Hood.”

The Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouse Career Forum takes place on Wednesday, March 28 from 7 a.m. to noon at Club Hood, Building 5764, 24th Street and Wainwright Drive, Fort Hood, Texas.
