Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has signed a contract with Guinness Anchor Berhad
(GAB) to license and implement its Accenture CAS software platform. The
move is designed to help the leading Malaysian beer and stout company
achieve excellence across its sales operations. Financial terms of the
agreement were not disclosed.
Under the terms of the agreement, Accenture will implement the Accenture
CAS software platform to help GAB deliver an improved distributor
management system and gain enhanced insights into the performance of its
in-store promotions. As a result, GAB will be able to forecast demand
more accurately, track and measure the success of its marketing
activities, and drive increased sales.
The Accenture CAS software platform will replace multiple systems
currently in use at GAB. It will offer the brewer a consistent sales
platform that is fully integrated into its overall IT landscape,
enabling better returns on commercial investments, streamlined business
processes, greater efficiency and simplicity.
“The Accenture CAS software platform stood out as a clear winner when we
considered the functionality, usability, scalability and cost,” said
Charles Ireland, managing director of GAB. “Accenture has a proven track
record of similar implementations in the consumer goods industry and a
clear understanding of our business. Once the solution is implemented,
our infrastructure will truly be world-class, and consistent with our
vision of becoming an icon in business.”
Henning Fromme, Accenture CAS product strategy and development lead,
said, “This program will help GAB win at the store shelf by providing
the company with greater visibility and insights at a store level. GAB
is taking an important step to improve its IT landscape by leveraging
our sophisticated technology platform to enable enhanced sales
performance, and we are looking forward to collaborating with them on
this crucial transformation.”
Accenture CAS offers an integrated suite of retail execution and trade
promotion management software, including direct store delivery, field
service and trade promotion optimization and is part of the Accenture
Software portfolio of products.
