Michael Baker Jr., Inc., a unit of Michael Baker Corporation (NYSE
Amex:BKR), has appointed Richard T. Bernet, P.E., PMP, LEED AP, to
assistant vice president and Architecture program manager for the
Defense Market. In this new role, he will be responsible for the overall
delivery of program task orders and projects as well as financial goals
for the Architecture practice.
Bernet has been involved in the design of Department of Defense projects
since 1985, and has been instrumental in developing Baker's Defense
Market. Among his business development successes, he led Baker in the
winning pursuit of a 10-year, $50 million contract with the Department
of Homeland Security. He has served as program manager for various IDIQ
contracts including multiple contracts spanning across 12 years for the
U.S. Army Reserve Construction Program with the Louisville District
Corps of Engineers. Through his career with Baker, Bernet has managed
design projects for all branches of the military and the U.S. Coast
Guard representing over $650 million in construction value.

Bernet holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from West Virginia
University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in several states,
a certified Project Management Professional by the Project Management
Institute, and is a LEED® Accredited Professional with the
United States Green Building Council.
