UnitedHealthcare has launched an online, interactive incentive program
to help pregnant women and new mothers with prenatal and well-baby care.
UnitedHealthcare Baby Blocks (http://www.uhcbabyblocks.com)
is available now at no charge to UnitedHealthcare Medicaid beneficiaries
in Ohio. Women who enroll in UnitedHealthcare Baby Blocks earn
rewards for completing prenatal, postpartum and well-baby appointments.
Once they sign up, users can access an interactive board that shows
their prenatal visits and opportunities to earn rewards for following a
prenatal visit schedule. UnitedHealthcare Baby Blocks enables
users to track appointments and receive email appointment reminders as
well as rewards for keeping the appointments. These include discount
cards for clothing, teething rings and other items.
“With 1.6 million babies born annually dependent on Medicaid, we are
committed to doing everything that we can to ensure newborns receive
access to the best care possible,” said Tracy Davidson, president of
UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Ohio.
Through its Medicaid business, UnitedHealthcare offers health care
coverage to more than 2 million children in 25 markets across the
country. Coverage, which varies by state, typically includes doctor
visits, hospital care, immunizations, routine physical exams and
prescription drug coverage. Members also have access to the nation’s
largest care provider network of pediatricians and children’s hospitals.
UnitedHealthcare offers health benefits, including employer-sponsored,
Medicare and Medicaid health plans, to more than 1 million people in the
state of Ohio and partners with about 21,000 physicians across the state.
