OBJE Prepares for Major Growth as Mobile Games Go Viral

Thursday, April 26, 2012 5:00 AM

Massive increases forecast for smartphone and tablet usage over the next several years represent a major growth opportunity for Obscene Interactive, the emerging gaming division of Obscene Jeans Corp. (OTCBB:OBJE).

Apple announced this week that the company has sold a total of 365 million mobile devices, including 67 million iPads. There are currently 600,000 apps and games in Apple’s App Store, with developers, publishers and media companies taking in $1.33 billion in revenue over the last quarter.

With Apple products selling so briskly, the demand for exciting new mobile games is rising by the day, and the numbers are only expected to rise as tablets and smartphones continue to supplant PCs as the devices grow cheaper. Demand for games continues to grow from users of Android-powered devices, as well.

The market for mobile gaming developers has become very hot, and that’s good news for OBJE. The company is in final negotiations for a new funding agreement with emerging developer HourBlast Games (HBG). HBG is currently beta-testing its groundbreaking debut game, Dueling Blades, which is expected to be released on Facebook this year.

Thanks to the viral nature of social platforms and the increasing usage of mobile devices, games and applications like Dueling Blades can potentially reach millions of users within seconds. The game’s Free-to-Play (FTP) model, combined with micro-transactions, allows users to try the game at no cost and then purchase additional features with a tap of the finger.
