WALTHAM, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/01/12 -- MetraTech Corp., the leading provider of agreements-based billing and compensation solutions, today announced that it is launching a new Asia-Pacific data center in support of global demand for its multi-tenant, cloud-based billing and revenue management application, Metanga.

According to Gartner, software-as-a-service (SaaS) revenue in the Asia-Pacific region is on pace to reach $934.1 million in 2012, up from $730.9 million in 2011. As businesses within the region adopt cloud-based delivery models, they are faced with the impact of that shift on their monetization models. Metanga empowers businesses to embrace cloud and SaaS delivery models, while monetizing their offerings through pay-as-you-go, metered transactions.

The data center expansion highlights Metanga's deep synergy with Microsoft Corp.'s (NASDAQ: MSFT) Windows Azure while providing more of Microsoft's 78,000 independent software vendors (ISVs) a shorter path to monetizing cloud-based applications deployed on Windows Azure. Recently, Metanga helped PT Infinys System monetize its new solutions. PT Infinys System plans to use Metanga to grow its business throughout Indonesia and Asia.

"We continue to see significant interest in Metanga throughout the Asia-Pacific region, and we want to maintain a high-performance customer experience in support of this business," said Scott Swartz, CEO of MetraTech. "Taking advantage of Microsoft's Window's Azure infrastructure makes the launch of new data center functionality incredibly easy."

Doug Hauger, general manager, Windows Azure Business Development, Microsoft, said, "Windows Azure offers Metanga and its cloud services customers scalability, reliability, and flexibility and allows them to get their solutions up and running quickly. With Windows Azure, Metanga enables ISVs throughout the Asia-Pacific region to build metered cloud applications and decrease their go-to-market time."
