Belkin Receives EIA/TIA 568C Certification for Cables

Wednesday, April 11, 2012 9:00 AM

Belkin, a global leader in connectivity solutions, today announced EIA/TIA 568C compliance for its CAT5e, CAT6 and CAT6a cables.

EIA/TIA 568C defines structured cabling standards for telecom products and services in commercial buildings. Intertek, the global inspection, product testing and certification company that performed the ETL verification, certifies Belkin's conformance to this latest standard.

Belkin’s entire line of CAT5e, CAT6 and CAT6a copper cabling products, in both patch and bulk configurations, are now recognized for the 568C standard. Used in office, data center and telecom applications, Belkin’s cabling products deliver high performance end-to-end data connection. Furthermore, Belkin’s networking cables are built to meet today’s stringent building codes, Underwriters Laboratories and special installation requirements as specified by EIA/TIA 568C specs, providing assurance for infrastructure installers and solutions providers around the globe.

The EIA/TIA 568C certification reaffirms Belkin’s commitment to meeting and exceeding necessary installation requirements, including bending radius, temperature ratings and bundling. By Spring 2013, all CAT5e, CAT6 and CAT6a cable providers must attain EIA/TIA 568C certification.

“The market for cabling products is becoming increasingly saturated, leaving data center and other IT professionals facing a rising number of options – many of which do not meet the necessary specifications,” said Luis Artiz, director of product management, Belkin. “As we have for more than 28 years, Belkin continues to offer the highest quality products and the highest confidence to our entire customer base.”
