Jon Di Gesu to Lead Company's Marketing Communications, Advertising and Public Relations

SARASOTA, Fla., June 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Jon Di Gesu, marketing communications, public relations and advertising expert, will serve as Head of Marketing Communications, Advertising and Public Relations for Sarasota-based Sunovia Energy Technologies (OTC Bulletin Board: SUNV).  Di Gesu will direct the company's branding and positioning efforts as well as develop marketing, promotional and public relations tools to support the company's growing global sales force and customer base. 

Di Gesu brings over 30 years of communications experience plus a strong grounding in both the business-to-business and consumer marketplace.  "Jon Di Gesu combines branding expertise with extensive background in the lighting and electronics industries which will help Sunovia better communicate to our diverse and growing customer and shareholder constituencies," said Mel Interiano, CEO, Sunovia Energy Technologies.

Di Gesu spent 17 years with OSRAM SYLVANIA, in Danvers, MA, first as Director of Marketing Communications, General Lighting Division, responsible for the division's advertising, public relations, marketing communications, promotions, packaging and training and education initiatives for the division's industrial and consumer markets.   Di Gesu helped re-brand the company and its products following the acquisition of GTE Sylvania by Munich, Germany-based lighting leader, OSRAM.  He ended his career at OSRAM SYLVANIA in 2008, as Director of Brand Strategy, responsible for the branding and positioning of the SYLVANIA brand in North America across all divisions. 

Prior to joining OSRAM SYLVANIA, Di Gesu served as public relations supervisor for the U.S. factory automation, solar and lighting divisions of the Munich, Germany-based global electronics leader, Siemens.  He worked as Public Relations Manager for Unilever's National Starch and Chemical Division in Bridgewater, NJ and served as Public Information Officer for the Chlorine Institute, a 130 member chemical trade association based in New York City.  He began his communications career writing sales promotion pieces for Newark, NJ-based Prudential Insurance Company.  Since 2008, Di Gesu has been a consultant in the marketing communications, advertising, public relations and sports marketing fields.
