Monday, June 11, 2012 7:00 AM

New F5 Architecture Design for Microsoft Exchange professional services offering announced

F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking (ADN), today announced that the company is participating in Microsoft TechEd North America 2012, taking place June 11–14 in Orlando, Fla. F5 will showcase solutions created for Microsoft productivity and cloud environments in F5’s booth #615.

F5 Solutions for Microsoft Exchange

Today, F5 debuts a new professional services offering, the F5® Architecture Design for Microsoft Exchange. This consulting engagement is designed to aid customers in preparing their network infrastructure for a deployment, upgrade, or migration of Microsoft Exchange Server and maximize their investments in F5 technology.

“We’re excited to see companies such as F5, with its F5 Architecture Design for Microsoft Exchange, build on Windows Server 2012 capabilities and demonstrate their products at TechEd in Orlando, Fla. this week,” said Mark Miller, Director, Server and Tools Marketing at Microsoft Corp.

F5 is also showcasing solutions developed for Microsoft to enhance the security of Exchange Server infrastructure. With F5’s ICSA-certified data center firewall solution, application attacks that are designed to penetrate the network are handled at the perimeter, so that data centers can continue to deliver Exchange services while helping to protect the infrastructure. In addition, F5® solutions enable a seamless single sign-on experience across both on-premise and cloud environments, while also providing for pre-authentication of user credentials.

Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V Network Virtualization

TechEd attendees are invited to view a virtualized network architecture created by F5 with Microsoft that enables agile cloud deployments. The demonstration shows the ease of managing application workloads across traditional network and data center boundaries using an F5 BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager and Hyper-V Network Virtualization. The solution demonstrates how to move an on-premise virtual machine (VM), like one providing Active Directory Federation Services, to a shared infrastructure hosted data center without changing the IP address of the application VM.

Additional Activities at F5 Booth #615

Throughout TechEd 2012, F5 is showcasing the company’s market-leading ADN solutions and F5’s solutions for Microsoft applications. Attendees will learn how to overcome IT challenges using the F5®BIG-IP® platform to help optimize their Microsoft infrastructures, enhance application performance for mobile users, and efficiently leverage cloud resource models, among other topics. Visitors to F5’s booth can enter a drawing for a chance to win an Architecture Design for Microsoft Exchange Server consulting engagement.
