Rian Miller Joins Mercer as General Counsel

Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. (NYSE: MMC), a global professional services firm providing advice and solutions in risk, strategy and human capital, announced today that Rian Miller has joined the Company as General Counsel of Mercer, the Company’s human resource consulting subsidiary. Ms. Miller reports to Peter J. Beshar, Executive Vice President & General Counsel of Marsh & McLennan Companies, and Julio A. Portalatin, President and CEO of Mercer.

Ms. Miller was most recently with Towers Watson, where she served as Managing Counsel for Risk and Litigation since 2010. She joined predecessor firm Towers Perrin in 1997, working principally on employment matters. In 2000, she was named Towers Perrin’s Managing Counsel for Litigation and, in 2007, added the responsibility of serving as the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer. Prior to joining Towers Perrin, Ms. Miller was an associate with Pepper, Hamilton.

Ms. Miller graduated Magna cum Laude from Temple University School of Law. She earned master’s degrees from Indiana University School of Library and Information Science and Indiana University School of Music.
