LongTail Video's JW Player Becomes First Third-Party Video Player To Support Google's Interactive Media Ads 3 SDK

Thursday, June 14, 2012 9:30 AM

LongTail Video (www.longtailvideo.com), the leading provider of affordable, self-serve video solutions for web publishers, today announced that its popular JW Player will be the first third-party video player to support Google’s Interactive Media Ads (IMA) 3 Flash SDK.

With this release, the millions of publishers using the JW Player can easily access the latest features associated with Google’s video monetization products, including its DoubleClick For Publishers Video offering, AdSense for Video and DoubleClick’s Ad Exchange, through a single SDK. In addition, JW Player publishers will also be able to utilize Google’s TrueView video ads, a new ad format that gives video viewers the flexibility to watch only those ads in which they are interested.

"We are excited to partner with LongTail Video on their integration of the IMA3 Flash SDK,” said Rany Ng, Group Product Manager for Google video monetization. “The combination of LongTail's JW Player and Bits on the Run offerings with the IMA3 will enable publishers to access new features such as ad rules and competitive exclusions for DFP Video, new monetization options through AdSense for video and DoubleClick Ad Exchange, and engaging new formats like TrueView video ads. We look forward to our continued collaboration with LongTail Video to provide both small and large publishers the solutions they need to grow their video business."

“We are very happy to announce this partnership with Google as it gives our 1.5 million publishers greater capabilities for driving online video ad monetization,” said Dave Otten, CEO of LongTail Video. “Video advertising is becoming an increasingly important revenue stream for publishers, and our support of the IMA3 Flash SDK within the JW Player further builds on our mission of simplifying video publishing and monetization for everyone.”
